Avery | Newborn Photography, Langley BC | Jillian Kirby

Avery has always been one of my very favorite girl names. I LOVE it and if my hubby would have ok’d it, my Ashleigh would have been an Avery. And funny enough, I have photographed two Avery’s in the last two days!!

Yesterday’s Avery was only 4.5 lbs so you can imagine the adjustment I had when I picked up today’s Avery weighing in at over 9.5 lbs!!! Today’s Avery is also the little girl of a friend of mine! It was so great to have this session but I think we spent more time gabbing while Avery was feeding than actually photographing baby! Either way, we ended up getting some adorable shots of little Miss Avery.

Honestly, there is just something about a newborn snuggle. Something happens when you snuggle a newborn… the whole world really just stops and silences and all that is there is this new little life. Of course, it’s so different when it’s your own, it’s amazing and breathtaking and humbling and stunning. But don’t discount the snuggle of someone else’s newborn. Sometimes it’s all you need to help make your world right again.

Noelle was the perfect candidate this morning! She was up for a snuggle and I honestly melt every time one of my newbie’s falls asleep in my arms. Noelle was no exception and she was just the sweetest thing ever!

Ava | South Surrey, Newborn Photos | Jillian Kirby

This past weekend was so great! My family and I headed out camping and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. But as lovely as it was to be out spending some time with my friends and family, it was great to come home to meet Miss Ava. This little girl decided to come a little bit early and is just the sweetest little thing ever! Her hair, her lips, her finger nails! Oh… I could have kept her!! I love getting to know these little babies and while they are all innately similar, each one has his or her own preferences and tendencies. And this family is part of my Bambino Membership so I will be lucky enough to see Ava in 6 months and see if those tendencies have remained the same!

Thanks for coming by today L family! I’m already looking forward to our next session together!

Well I woke up this morning thinking this day was going to be a really good day…. a really, really good day. And guess what?! It was! Cause I got to meet Carter… and photograph him. And he was just the sweetest little model. He’s the first boy I’ve had in the last 6 newborn sessions! Crazy! Out of my 25 some odd newborn sessions I’ve had this year, 17 have been girls!!

Oh but the little boys! I have a soft spot in my heart for little baby boys… and Carter was no different… just look at this face. Wouldn’t you too?!?

Atlyn | Newborn Photographer, South Surrey BC | Jillian Kirby

First off, I LOVE her name… this perfect little name for a perfect little girl. Miss Atlyn was born 3.5 weeks early much to her parents’ surprise but she’s doing wonderfully. And she is just so loved. At a whopping 5 some odd pounds, she’s just a little peanut but friends… check out her eyelashes!!!!!!!! And then, when you’re done ooohing and ahhhing check our her gorgeous hair!! Oh my gosh! I was in heaven with Atlyn.
