Today I had the pleasure of photographing little 4.5 lb Avery and 5.5 lb Payton on their two week birthday!

Every time I photograph twins, I’m always in awe of how much their little personalities differ already. Little sister Avery was sleepy and was quite easy to pose and keep in la-la land. However Payton was more concerned and really wanted to ensure that her gorgeous big eyes were in every shot!:)It was tricky to keep her asleep once we got her there, but I still think we managed to get a few cute shots of the two of them together.

How much fun they will have together as sisters. Can’t wait to see them again in 6 months!!

Honestly, there is just something about a newborn snuggle. Something happens when you snuggle a newborn… the whole world really just stops and silences and all that is there is this new little life. Of course, it’s so different when it’s your own, it’s amazing and breathtaking and humbling and stunning. But don’t discount the snuggle of someone else’s newborn. Sometimes it’s all you need to help make your world right again.;)

Noelle was the perfect candidate this morning! She was up for a snuggle and I honestly melt every time one of my newbie’s falls asleep in my arms. Noelle was no exception and she was just the sweetest thing ever!

Tyce | Baby Photography, Langley BC | Jillian Kirby

This morning Mr. Tyce came to see me for his 6 month session. Doing this job, I certainly find out very quickly that the world (especially our little corner) is actually quite small. I am always photographing clients who I have previously known or have known their siblings or something along those lines… all in plain coincidence!

Well little Tyce’s mommy was a support worker in my Ashleigh’s preschool class almost two years ago now but of course we didn’t realize it until she walked through the door and we recognized each other immediately!

It was so awesome to photograph Tyce… he was such a smiley little guy and an absolute dream to work with. (And how much do I LOVE his name?!?!?). Anyways, enough with the gab and on to the photos!

Ps. I MUST MUST MUST thank my dear friend Dana for giving me my new favorite prop! This high chair was tucked away in a corner in her home and I fell instantly in LOVE. Thank you D!

Ava | South Surrey, Newborn Photos | Jillian Kirby

This past weekend was so great! My family and I headed out camping and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. But as lovely as it was to be out spending some time with my friends and family, it was great to come home to meet Miss Ava. This little girl decided to come a little bit early and is just the sweetest little thing ever! Her hair, her lips, her finger nails! Oh… I could have kept her!! I love getting to know these little babies and while they are all innately similar, each one has his or her own preferences and tendencies. And this family is part of my Bambino Membership so I will be lucky enough to see Ava in 6 months and see if those tendencies have remained the same!

Thanks for coming by today L family! I’m already looking forward to our next session together!

Well I woke up this morning thinking this day was going to be a really good day…. a really, really good day. And guess what?! It was! Cause I got to meet Carter… and photograph him. And he was just the sweetest little model. He’s the first boy I’ve had in the last 6 newborn sessions! Crazy! Out of my 25 some odd newborn sessions I’ve had this year, 17 have been girls!!

Oh but the little boys! I have a soft spot in my heart for little baby boys… and Carter was no different… just look at this face. Wouldn’t you too?!?
