Baby… and Momma too! | Vancouver Baby Photographer | Jillian Kirby

So as many of you know, I headed to Red Deer, Alberta this past weekend to teach a baby posing workshop with my dear friend and fellow photographer, Stephanie Robin.

The workshop was a great success, but more on that (and photos!) later! :)

What I wanted to show you now cause I just can’t hold on to them anymore is Steph and her sweet little muffin, K. We stayed in a B&B and my room had this gorgeous claw tub with a beautiful window just above. I think the thought of photographing in it hit us both at the exact same time, so when I suggested her daughter AND her jump in, I was soooo happy she agreed!! :)

Seriously…. this baby is an angel. We were there for 3 days of cold weather, late nights and gabbing and this baby did not make a peep the ENTIRE time. I fell head over heels in love with her after knowing her for only 3 days and I already miss her! Check out Miss K!

Expecting | Langley Maternity and Prenatal Photography | Jillian Kirby

The first time I met this family was a couple years ago for a product shoot I did. Sophie was only about 6 months old but came in to model some children’s clothing. She was a stellar model! Well they’re back because Sophie is getting a little sister or brother!! And it was amazing… even a few years later, and she’s still an absolute natural in front of the camera! It’s clear where she gets it from… her mom is stunning! Check out the maternity session in the studio!

JKB is Moved!! | Newborn and Baby Photographer | Jillian Kirby Baby

If you’ve had a session in my studio in the past few years, you’ll know that my studio was actually in my home…. and taking over my home completely as a matter of fact! ;)  While I absolutely adored being able to work out of my home, save the commute and keep things comfy and personal for my new families that I photographed, I didn’t like having to kick my family out of the house every time I had a session and I didn’t like losing my living room or dining room (as that’s where I shot from).

So, this weekend, I made the big leap in to a commercial space and am now the proud owner of a brand new natural light studio space in downtown Langley!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to have this beautiful studio. I have spent all weekend giving it my personal touch and ensuring it still keeps that “comfort of home” feel that I pride myself on. Being a predominately newborn photographer, I love that my new mommas and daddies can come to my studio and know that they’ll have access to everything they need while I photograph their new little one.

I’m so excited to have this opportunity to expand as it will also open doors to allow me to offer many more amazing products that I simply did not have room for at my home space. Keep your eyes out for all the new products coming soon!

Here are a few photos! It’s not done… none of my canvases or prints are on the walls yet but hopefully within the next couple weeks we’ll have it all completed!

Today, my good friend brought her new little puppy Pressley to see me and she served as my first subject shot in the studio! I say I’m a baby photographer, but I never specified what kind right!?! ;)

As my youngest is still not quite in full time school yet, the hours in my studio will be by appointment only but I look forward to meeting you all in the space soon!! :)

Makayla | Langley Child Photographer | Jillian Kirby

I’ve said it a million times! The absolute best part of my job is watching the tiny, fragile little newborn babies grow in to adorably fun little toddlers! While I don’t take many new child or family clients anymore, I do love to see my past clients back for new photos that will show how much their little one has grown and their new amazing little personalities!

This is Makayla! I went to school with her mommy and also photographed her when she was just a few days old! She was a dream to photograph then, and she was a dream to photograph yesterday when we headed down to Campbell Valley Park. She’s happy, independent, and so intelligent! She’s only 19 months and said “Hi Jill!” to me… is that not impressive!?!

Anyways, I had a great time with the J family yesterday and I hope they love the images of their beautiful little girl!

Madison | South Surrey Child Photographer | Jillian Kirby

Remember Madison!? If you don’t, you have to check out her session from a year back. I photographed her when she was one year old and oh my gosh, she was just soooooo darling! Those cheeks, those eyes… to die for! Guess what! She’s back and she’s just as cute… if not cuter! Cause now she talks and every time she said anything I just had to giggle! It was just the sweetest thing!

She was absolutely enamored with my backdrop paper and repeated “momma, big piece of paper” about 20 times. It was the way she said it though… reminded me of when my Ash was that age. Their voices are very similar. Soooooo sweet!

We did a few in studio and then luckily, the clouds parted and we headed outside to the field for a few more shots.

Thank you B family for coming by last night. It was so much fun!
