Alrighty folks! I just want to thank you all for taking the time to click over and comment on my blog post here!  I wanted to not only raise awareness to the very worthy cause that is BC Children’s Hospital but also donate a little something! Well we got a whopping 117 comments which I was so excited about! So last week I doubled that and Jillian Kirby | Baby donated $234 to the fantastic hospital that has touched us all in some way or another! Not alot in the grand scheme of things, but every penny counts. :)

It was also so cool to see that other local business’s took this as inspiration and did their own versions of this. So thank you all so much for your generosity and time!

Happy Holidays!!

Kisses for Coltan | Langley, BC

On June 30, 2009 Coltan was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He was only 9 months and 9 days old and nearly didn’t make it.  The amazing staff at BC Children’s Hospital saved his life that day … now it is up to his family to save his life every day. Failure to keep his sugars at appropriate levels can result in seizures, coma and even death.

The Kisses for Coltan campaign would like you to help buy  kisses for each poke and prick Coltan has had over the last year …

-> 17 pokes/pricks a day on average
-> 6205 pokes/pricks per year
-> 6205 x $5 for each kiss I get = $31025

You can read his full story and follow his fund-raising efforts here:

Shannon had the pleasure of taking Coltan and his mama out for a session last week… look at this little sweetheart, the youngest person with Type 1 diabetes in BC.

A Friend's Maternity | Maternity Photography, Aldergrove, BC | Jillian Kirby

I absolutely love photographing old friends/family. There’s just something comfortable about it and generally it’s easier to get them to relax. It also gives me a chance to catch up and chat while we shoot and I always just feel so honored to be picked to capture this time for them.

This is T… her younger sister (well one of them.. she’s got three!! LOL) and I were bestest little friends in elementary school and stayed close throughout high school as well. She’s since moved out of town and I miss her. It’s so nice to be able to stay in touch with her family though.

T, thank you for such a nice morning… I can’t wait to meet the little one! Not long now!!:)

Enjoy!
